Our New Life

Co-directed by Shen Ao, Bao Bei’er, Yao Tingting, Lu Zhengyu and Zhang Luan, Our New Life is a comedy featuring the life stories of ordinary Chinese. The film consists of five stories: "Love and Hate on the Square", "Calm Down", "Concert on the Clouds", "Red as Sunsets" and "Always Going Forward". It centers around the day-to-day lives of ordinary Chinese and their bitter-sweet journeys in pursuit of a better life. These five stories show that the social-economic developments of modern China have bought about immense changes in its people’s lives, and helped them develop a sense of achievement, happiness, and security.
