After losing her mother at a young age, Dou Zhao became deeply disillusioned with love and family due to the upheavals and hardships she faced. “Love Song in Winter” is an urban suspense romance drama directed by Yu Chungchung (“Love is Sweet”) and Yi Yong (“Bright Eyes in the Dark”), and starring Johnny Huang (“The Thunder”) and Sun Qian (“Wild Bloom”). Adapted from the eponymous novel by Ning Long, it tells the romantic love story of the reunion of the detective Jiang Chengyi and the anesthesiologist Lu Yan. They encounter each other by chance eight years after breaking up, and unravel their misunderstandings as they work together to solve a serial murder case. 

Since the anesthesiologist Lu Yan (played by Sun Qian) “runs into” her dead college friend Deng Man (played by He Hongshan) during a night shift, strange things around her occur successively.
