Moonrise Over Egypt
In April 1947, four Indonesian diplomatic envoys arrive in Cairo to seek de jure recognition of Indonesian sovereignty from the Egyptian government. They are Haji Agus Salim who is also the leader of the delegation, Abdurrachman Baswedan, Mohammad Rasjidi, and Nazir Datuk Sutan Pamuntjak. The effort of Agus Salim and his friends are not as smooth as the plan. The Dutch ambassador to Egypt, Willem Van Recteren Limpurg, launches a series of fraud tactics. Accompanied by Dutch ambassador Cornelis Adriaanse who is deliberately imported specifically to Cairo, Willem bullies the Egyptian Government. The Netherlands will deprive any support for its foreign interests, if Egypt recognizes Indonesian sovereignty.
