Bộ phim kể về cuộc gặp gỡ định mệnh nơi gió tuyết giữa Phàn Trường Ngọc, con gái nhà đồ tể và Tạ Chinh, vị hầu gia gặp nạn. Một người mồ côi cha mẹ, quyết tâm đứng ra làm nữ chủ hộ; người kia thì mai danh ẩn tích để báo mối huyết hải thâm thù suốt 17 năm trời. Hai người họ vì mục đích riêng mà giả vờ thành thân, nhưng về sau lại động tấm chân tình. Từ lợi dụng hóa chân tình, mà chân tình lại kéo theo binh đao, máu lửa, khiến đôi lứa buộc phải chia lìa.
