Chaoshan, the origin of flavor, is the first in the documentary series. Through each episode of the short film, it will explore a kind of unique ingredients, food and taste of Chaoshan, which is not known to the deep boudoir. In Chaoshan area, food has obvious regional markers. From Chaoshan food, we can clearly see the migration, root and reproduction of Chaoshan people, and see the unique personality characteristics and spirit of Chaoshan people.

Chen Xiaoqing, a documentary filmmaker, works on food documentaries and writing, searching for new flavors is his job. He believes that “food is not only delicious, but also a kind of adhesive that allows for more understanding and communication.”
